Annual Membership Meeting a Big Hit by Our Honoring Jim Wayne!

The highlight of the evening was a special recognition to our good friend Representative Jim Wayne as GPNA's 2018 Citizen of the Year. Jim is retiring from the legislature at the end of this calendar year. Good wishes were brought to Jim and his wife Debbie from 4 neighborhoods. Judy Magre represented GermanParistown in giving comments and presenting the award. Leaders from Schnitzelburg, Shelby Park and Paristown also added glowing comments about Jim's access and work ethic. Geoff Wohl represented Councilman Mulvihill's 10th Council District office and presented Jim with a recognition plaque from the city. We had one candidate for office who made the effort to attend and that was Lisa Wilner. It just so happens Lisa is running for the seat that Jim will be retiring from. Amber Halloran from Center for the Arts brought a detailed update and shared the timeline for the new facility that will be opening in 2019 in Paristown. And finally the election of the following took place as each accepted a new two year term that will allow them to stay on the board through June of 2020. They are John Gonder, Steve Magre, Ben Evans, Bruce Ewing, Laura Neely, Jon Heck, Tom Wright and Kathleen Davis. The pot luck dinner included excellent home made dishes. Thanks to Laura and The Post for the great pizza options and the chicken bites.
